How to Update Your SSS Records as a Pensioner: Name, Address, Beneficiary, and More

Having correct and updated records with SSS is very important. If your name is spelled wrong, your address is old, or your beneficiary is not updated, it can cause big problems when you or your family tries to claim benefits.

Many pensioners have experienced delayed pensions or rejected claims simply because their records did not match their documents. The good news is that updating your SSS records is easy.

What Information Can You Update?

Personal information: name, address, date of birth, civil status

Contact information: mobile number, email address

Bank account for pension disbursement

Beneficiary or dependent information

Employment status

How to Update Your SSS Records

Option 1: Go to the Nearest SSS Branch

This is the safest and most reliable option for pensioners. Bring at least one valid government ID and the specific documents related to what you want to update.

  • For a name change: bring your PSA-certified birth certificate and a court order if your name was officially changed.
  • For address update: bring a utility bill, barangay certificate, or any document showing your new address.
  • For bank account update: bring your bank account number and a photocopy of your bank passbook or ATM card.

Option 2: Update Online via My.SSS

Log in to your My.SSS account at www.sss.gov.ph. Some updates — like contact number and email address — can be done fully online. For other updates, like name correction, you may still need to visit a branch.

How to Update Your SSS Beneficiary

To change or add a beneficiary, fill out the SSS E-4 form (Member Data Amendment Form). Submit this form along with:

PSA-certified birth or marriage certificate of the new beneficiary

Your valid ID

SSS allows you to update your beneficiary list at any time. It is a good idea to do this after major life changes like marriage, the death of a spouse, or the adoption of a child.

How to Update Your Bank Account for Pension Release

If you changed banks or your account was closed, you must update your pension disbursement account with SSS as soon as possible. Failure to do this may cause your pension to bounce and be returned to SSS.

Steps to update your bank account:

Fill out the SSS Bank Enrollment Form (available at any SSS branch or downloadable online)

Attach a photocopy of your new bank passbook (front page) or ATM card showing your name and account number

Submit these to any SSS branch

How Long Does It Take to Process Updates?

Simple updates like contact number changes are often done on the same day. More complex updates, like name corrections or beneficiary changes, may take a few weeks to reflect in the SSS system.

Always ask for a reference number or acknowledgment receipt after you submit any update request. This will help you follow up if there are any issues.
